Picture and Words Writing Contest Submission Deadline

Sunday May 31, 2020

Location: The Blue Mountains Public Library.

Today is the final day for Picture and Words Writing and Visual Art Contest. 

Criteria for submission: 
The creative writing must be an original story or poem or comic with a maximum of 1000 words, and must be submitted with a visual piece of art.

There are 5 age categories:

Ages 0-5 years

Ages 6-10 years

Ages 11-14 years

Ages 15-18 years

Ages 18+

The winning pieces will be posted on our website and will also be featured in a Biblioboard exhibit. Winners will receive amazing prizes from local small business, such as Good Grief, Lemonade Collective, Bruce Wine Bar, Thornbury Bakery, Imagination Studio, and Jessica's Book Nook.

Retirees Coffee Hour

Tuesday June 2, 2020 - Tuesday June 23, 2020

Time: 10:00am - 11:00am

Location: Zoom.

We know it isn't easy to be stuck inside all day, away from family and friends, navigating an online world, and figuring out how to get everything done. We want to provide an online space for retirees and seniors to get together and meet others over some coffee and tea! Don’t forget your mug for an online social Coffee Hour.

You will need a computer or laptop with a web camera, or a tablet or smart phone to participate in the Coffee Hour. Once registered, you will be sent a Zoom Meeting ID and password to attend the meetup session.

Understanding Ontario's Estate Administration Tax

Are you estate planning? Or, has someone asked you to be their estate representative? Would you like to better understand how Ontario's Estate Administration Tax (EAT) works?

Attend this free, one-hour webinar that will teach you what EAT is, when it is applicable, and how to calculate it. The webinar will also review recent legislative changes to the tax.

Register for these free webinars by contacting Jeremy Bertrand by email or phone. In order to participate in the webinar you require internet access and working computer speakers. You will be sent a link to the meeting (webinar) and instructions for testing your computer's speakers. Handouts will be sent to all participants after each webinar. There will also be sent a short evaluation to all participants.
