Borrowing Materials from the Library
Join the Library to borrow library materials. Here are some common questions about borrowing materials from the library:

How long can I keep a loan?

New Books: 3 weeks, 3 renewals (provided the item is not on hold for another patron)
Books and other print materials: 3 weeks, 3 renewals (provided the item is not on hold for another patron)
Non-circulating: reference materials, archival materials, rare books and the current issue of magazines do not circulate.
Interlibrary Loans: 5 weeks, or as set by lending institution, no renewals
Technology and other non-traditional materials: lending periods vary
If library materials are not returned by their due date, late charges apply.
How much are late charges?
Books and Magazines: $0.25 per item per day
Movies: $1 per item per day
Digital materials: no late charges apply
The maximum late fee is $5 per item. Patrons with more than $10 in charges on their account are unable to borrow items from the library.
Where can I return materials?
Please retrurn all materials (except technology loans) to the RETURN bins located at L.E. Shore Library and Craigleith Heritage Depot. To minimize damage, please be careful when placing DVDs and CDs in the drop boxes. Sorry, but materials from the Blue Mountains Public Library may not be returned to other public libraries.
