Snacks for Kids - BVO Food Drive

The Beaver Valley Outreach (BVO) food bank needs your help! The Blue Mountains Public Library is challenging you to buy some urgently needed items and donate them to the Library's BVO Snack Food Drive. With rising food costs, families are struggling and there is a continued need for the typical "after-school" style snacks for our youth.
Requested items: Peanut Butter, Crackers, Granola Bars, Bear Paws, Apple Sauce, Juice Boxes, etc.
Please leave new, unopened packages in the Food Drive Box, located at the L.E. Shore Library, throughout the month of June.

Join the BMPL team at Ravenna Hall on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month May to December (2nd & 4th Friday in July & September). We’ll be at Ravenna Hall from 10am to 4pm to bring you GLAM (Gallery, Library, Archives & Museum) services closer to home! You’ll be able to browse and borrow books, pick-up your holds, access Chromebooks and iPads, and there will even be drop-in programs for you. Each Pop-up GLAM event will feature a different conversation spark or GLAM activity.

How to Draw a Flower: Virtual Illustration Workshop

Join local illustrator, Loo McNulty, for a virtual tutorial on how to draw a flower. Follow along on YouTube to learn about illustration and different techniques to create different drawings of flowers. All you need is paper and a pencil!

Speaking of Wildlife is a Wildlife Education Centre that gives permanent sanctuary to non-releasable Ontario Wildlife; many of their animals have been injured, orphaned, abandoned or illegally kept as pets and were unable to return to the wild as they should.
Some of these animals will be at the L.E. Shore Library to teach audiences about those that we share our environment with.

This weekend event brings together experts, collectors, filmmakers, designers, former Blue Mountain Pottery employees, antique dealers, museums, craftspeople for you to discover the charm, history and importance of Blue Mountain Pottery.
Many activities and lots of pottery and history to explore all weekend long! The Museum's latest documentary film Blue Mountain Pottery will premiere on Saturday. Along with the Blue Mountain Pottery Collector's Club Annual Convention, a former Employee reunion, and lots of BMP for show and sale!

An Evening of Star Gazing with Ian Wheelband

On Thursday, August 4th, join the Blue Mountains Public Library and local astronomer Ian Wheelband for an Evening of Star Gazing. Ian will chat about “What’s New” in Astronomy and discuss what is visible in the August night skies.
Ian will have LIVE shots of the moon, the skies above the Town of the Blue Mountains, and if the skies are clear and the weather cooperates, maybe even a peek at the moon through the lens of a telescope.
