Happy New Year!

We’ve heard how much you’ve been enjoying Kids Clubhouse over the last few months. Thank you to everyone who’s joining us with the kits and on YouTube! Kids Clubhouse is best for kids in grades 1 to 6, so if you haven’t had a chance to register, you can do it now on our Event Calendar. But, I’d really like to tell you about a new maker-style, explorative play, tween-led program we are starting in January—Tween Advisory Group (TWAG)

Tween Advisory Group is about providing exploring, creating, making, and leadership opportunities for tweens in grades 6 to 8. Tweens will meet on the 4th Thursday monthly on Zoom, for an interactive and engaging meeting with other tweens where they can explore new maker and tech equipment, test new library programs, and share their thoughts and opinions on library services and programs. It’s all about tweens in this new exciting program!

Tweens will be able to pick-up a Makerkit from the L.E. Shore Library after they register for TWAG. Makerkits are designed to help build essential life and literacy skills and promote STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) knowledge through explorative play. We rounded up some awesome technology recently to help tweens get comfortable with computer programming and design, too. We need tweens to test this equipment and let us know what they think of it.

Think this is something your tween would be interested in? Register now on our Event Calendar.
